On My Wish List

On My Wishlist is a weekly meme hosted by Book Chick City, which will be posted every Wednesday. It allows us to share the books we haven’t bought yet but are waiting to be bought and devoured. If you are anything like me then your wishlist is getting longer by the day! If you would like to take part and have your own ‘On My Wishlist’ post then you can find more info here. (This post was inspired by the fab In My Mailbox by Kristi at The Story Siren).

Synopsis:

Take Romeo and Juliet. Add The Outsiders. Mix thoroughly.

Colt and Julia were secretly together for an entire year, and no one—not even Julia’s boyfriend— knew. They had nothing in common, with Julia in her country club world on Black Mountain and Colt from down on the flats, but it never mattered. Until Julia dies in a car accident, and Colt learns the price of secrecy. He can’t mourn Julia openly, and he’s tormented that he might have played a part in her death. When Julia’s journal ends up in his hands, Colt relives their year together at the same time that he’s desperately trying to forget her. But how do you get over someone who was never yours in the first place?

Because I LOVED the show:

Synopsis:

Ever since a 1962 unsolved train robbery made it famous, people have made their way to Trouble in California’s gold country—to search for the booty that train robbers supposedly dumped in the botched heist.

When the museum watchman is murdered, Monk and his assistant, Natalie, are sent to investigate. Monk becomes obsessed with the legendary unsolved robbery, discovering a personal connection to the town’s past. During the tail-end of the gold rush, Trouble’s assayer was one Artemus Monk.

Natalie can’t help but notice the resemblance. But that might not be the only thing that ties the past to the present, and if Monk isn’t careful, he’ll learn how the town of Trouble lives up to its name.

Synopsis:

Adrian Monk and his assistant Natalie are in Paris, touring the shadowy catacombs that wind beneath the city streets, lined with millions of centuries-old human bones. Of course, Monk notices one particular skull, declaring that the person was killed recently. With the delights of Paris overshadowed by murder, Monk will have to think fast-and see in the dark-if he’s going to catch a cunning killer.

Synopsis:

Monk is horrified when he learns there’s going to be a blue flu in San Francisco-until Capt. Stottlemeyer explains that it just means the police plan to call in “sick” until they get a better contract. The good news is the labor dispute will give Monk a chance to get back on the force. The bad news is it means he’ll be a “scab”-and he doesn’t like the sound of that either.

But before he knows it, Monk has his badge back, and his own squad to command. Unfortunately, some of the squad members make Monk look like a paragon of mental health. But despite the challenges, they’ll have to pull together to catch an astrologer’s killer, solve a series of mysterious fatal assaults, and most importantly, clean up their desks.

Synopsis:

Some people think Hawaii is paradise, but Monk knows that danger, like dirt, lurks everywhere. Look at Helen Gruber, the rich tourist who took a fatal blow from a coconut. The police say it fell from a tree, but Monk suspects otherwise. His assistant Natalie isn’t exactly thrilled about Monk’s latest investigation. It was bad enough Monk followed her on vacation, and now it looks like the vacation is over.
